Tinubu Administration Running “Most Divisive Government in History,” Says ADC
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of engaging in “manipulated propaganda” and running the “most nepotistic and divisive government Nigeria has ever had.”
In a strongly worded statement issued Tuesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, and collected by our correspondent, the ADC alleged that a newly released federal infrastructure report, presented as evidence of fair development, had instead exposed “cronyism, carelessness, and outright manipulation.”
The party criticised the glossy document, “Infrastructure Equity for Every Region. Progress for Every Nigerian. The Renewed Hope Agenda in Action,” describing it as “less a gesture of accountability and more a panicked propaganda attempt at damage control.”
Abdullahi said, “It should be noted that this is the first time any government in Nigeria would be so hard-pressed to prove that it has actually given all parts of the country a sense of belonging. But the reason is clear: this is the most divisive government we have ever had, where government business is run like an exclusive membership club.”
The ADC cited multiple examples of what it described as deliberate mislabelling of projects.
“The Damaturu–Maiduguri road, located entirely in the North-East, was listed as a North-West project. The Lokoja–Okene dualisation and Benue–9th Mile road, both in the North-Central zone, were also wrongly classified,” Abdullahi noted, adding that some projects were listed twice, artificially inflating figures.
The party further alleged that several of the highlighted projects were initiated under the Buhari administration but were being repackaged as new Tinubu achievements.
