The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast for Saturday, 30th August 2025, predicting thunderstorms, moderate rains, and cloudy conditions across different regions of the country.
TIMES OF NIGERIA gathered that residents in northern states such as Kebbi, Zamfara, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto, Taraba, and Jigawa should expect morning thunderstorms with moderate rainfall.
Similar conditions are anticipated later in the day across Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, and Borno States.
In the central region, NiMet predicts light rains in the morning across Niger, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasarawa, and Plateau States, with moderate rains expected in the afternoon and evening across Nasarawa, Benue, Kwara, Niger, Plateau, Kogi, and the FCT.
Southern states including Ondo, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom will see cloudy skies with chances of light rain in the morning, while afternoon and evening showers are expected in parts of Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Edo, Abia, Imo, Oyo, Ebonyi, Enugu, Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa.
NiMet has advised the public to exercise caution during thunderstorms, warning that strong winds could make driving difficult and cause slippery roads.
Communities in flood-prone areas were urged to remain vigilant.
