Senator Abdulhamid Showcases Two Years of Developmental Achievements in Kaugama
Senator Ambassador Ahmed Abdulhamid Malam Madori has outlined major achievements recorded in Kaugama Local Government within his first two years in office, detailing interventions in education, healthcare, capital projects, palliatives, and employment.
TIMES OF NIGERIA gathered from the senator’s office that his efforts were guided by five clear objectives: improving access to quality education, strengthening healthcare services, boosting infrastructure, providing relief and financial support, and empowering youths and women through jobs and training.
Education and Healthcare Interventions
In education, the senator sponsored registration fees for students at Bayero University, Kano, nursing schools in Nguru and Hadejia, and NABTEB candidates.
He also donated ₦250,000 for Children’s Day celebrations, supported Qur’an reciters with ₦1.35 million, and distributed 150 JAMB PINs worth ₦1.2 million.
On healthcare, Senator Abdulhamid sponsored the treatment of over 21 patients across major hospitals, including FMC Nguru, FMC Azare, Dan Masara Specialist Hospital in Dutse, and AKTH Kano, with financial support exceeding ₦20 million.
Infrastructure, Palliatives and Empowerment
Capital projects executed include the renovation of Kaugama Central Mosque (₦17m), construction of a new mosque at Bakin Kasuwa (₦7m), provision of 440 hand pump pipes for borehole repairs, and installation of solar streetlights and solar systems in mosques across wards.
The senator also distributed 594 bags of rice across 11 wards, cash palliatives worth ₦2 million to community leaders, and direct support to households under his Gida-Gida and Riga-Riga initiatives.
Additional grants and farm inputs were provided to women, youths, and farmers.
Employment initiatives facilitated the recruitment of 24 police officers and 18 casual staff in education and healthcare sectors.
The senator also maintained community engagement through visits, condolences, and grassroots programmes.
Commitment to Grassroots Development
Hon. Muhd Sabo Yankoli, Secretary of the Technical Committee for the Chairman, said the achievements “are a testament to Senator Abdulhamid’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development.”
He added that “every ward in Kaugama has benefitted from the senator’s projects, which have touched lives in education, health, infrastructure, and livelihoods.”
