Police Rescue Five Kidnap Victims, Kill Five Suspects in Nationwide Crackdown

The Nigeria Police Force has rescued five kidnap victims, neutralised five suspected kidnappers, and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in major operations across Kebbi and Abia States.

TIMES OF NIGERIA gathered from Force Headquarters that in Kebbi, three villagers abducted in Sangara on 27th July were freed after a joint security raid on Shanga Hills.

Two more kidnap victims were rescued in Danko/Wasagu LGA during a patrol encounter with armed bandits.

In Abia, police stormed a kidnappers’ den in Umuiku Obete, Ukwa West LGA. A fierce gun battle ensued, leaving five suspects dead.

Recovered items included six AK-47 rifles, 335 live rounds, 14 magazines, operational jackets, and charms.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun praised the officers and urged them to sustain the fight.

Force PRO DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi reaffirmed the commitment to “combat crime in all forms and maintain law and order nationwide.”
