The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has alleged a plot to remove him from office, citing threats to his life and those of staff members.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, Ojulari claimed that his push for reforms in the oil and gas sector has unsettled vested interests.

TIMES OF NIGERIA understands from his remarks that he is pressing ahead with plans to revive Nigeria’s moribund refineries, considering the Nigeria LNG model as a template.

Despite the threats, Ojulari said he remained resolute.

“I’m not hiding to anybody. I’m not a politician. I will have to learn a bit more about politics, but it’s a development plan for me, right? And I’m ready to learn,” he stated.

He assured Nigerians of his commitment to ensuring the refineries work optimally, describing their revival as essential for energy security and economic growth.
