The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has released its daily weather outlook for Friday, 29th August 2025, predicting thunderstorms and light rains across many parts of the country.
TIMES OF NIGERIA collected from NiMet that thunderstorms with moderate rains are expected in the morning across parts of Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, and Taraba States, extending into Kano, Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina, Yobe, and Borno later in the day.
In the central region, light rains are expected in Niger, the FCT, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, and Plateau during the morning, with further showers likely in Nasarawa, Benue, Kwara, Niger, Plateau, and Abuja by evening.
For the southern states, cloudy skies with light morning rains are forecast in parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom, while intermittent showers are expected later in Ondo, Edo, Abia, Imo, Oyo, Anambra, Enugu, Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Bayelsa.
The agency advised residents to exercise caution during thunderstorms, warning that strong winds could affect transportation, while communities in flood-prone areas were urged to remain vigilant.
