The Jigawa State Executive Council has approved major policy and infrastructure initiatives, including a roadmap for digital economy and e-governance.
TIMES OF NIGERIA gathered from the council’s resolution of 25 August 2025 that a new committee chaired by the Governor’s ICT Adviser will lead the digital transformation plan.
The policy is designed to enhance transparency, drive entrepreneurship, expand e-governance, and empower youths with digital skills.
The council also approved ₦357.2 million for the renovation of Block C and D and the Ahmadu Bello Hall at the state secretariat, and endorsed the transmission of a reviewed bill to establish the Jigawa State Rural Access Road Authority and Road Fund.
Officials said the bill would provide a sustainable framework for financing and maintaining rural road networks.
In addition, ₦717.7 million was approved for water supply projects across 24 constituencies, including solar-powered water points, hand pumps, and rehabilitation of existing facilities.
Commissioner for Youth, Sport and Culture, Sagir Musa Ahmed, said the decisions align with Governor Namadi’s 12-Point Agenda and commitment to inclusive development.
