The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Monday that in-person Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) has begun nationwide, reminding citizens that “In-person Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) starts today, Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Monday to Friday).”
The commission urged anyone who has already completed online pre-registration to “kindly proceed to the INEC State Head Office or the INEC LGA office in your place of residence to complete your registration,” making clear that the final step must be undertaken in person.
INEC’s short bulletin stressed the practicalities – locations, times, and the need for residents to convert their online pre-registration into completed, on-the-roll status – as it prepares the electorate for the next cycle.
Officials said the exercise is vital to maintain an up-to-date voters’ register and to ensure eligible citizens are not disenfranchised, with registration desks open during weekday hours and local offices ready to support applicants through the process.
The nationwide rollout follows the commission’s earlier online drive and is presented as the finishing line for many who began their application remotely; the authority’s clear instruction was: if you have started online, go to your INEC State Head Office or LGA office to finalise matters.
