Governor Malam Umar Namadi has expressed gratitude to Allah and the people of Jigawa as the state marks its 34th anniversary since creation from old Kano State in 1991.

In a statewide broadcast on Wednesday, 27 August 2025, Namadi hailed past leaders, traditional rulers, and civil society for laying a strong foundation for Jigawa’s progress.

He acknowledged the roles of four military administrators and four elected governors, alongside community leaders, in building the state.

“From near nothing at creation, Jigawa has evolved into one of Nigeria’s most peaceful states with extensive road networks, tertiary institutions, and health facilities,” Namadi said.

He pledged to consolidate these gains through his 12-Point Agenda, including youth empowerment, agricultural transformation, infrastructure, and governance reforms.

The governor announced the signing of a law establishing the Jigawa Agricultural Transformation Agency and a new Ministry for Livestock Development, both aimed at modernising agriculture and boosting food security.

“We are laying legacies that will stand the test of time,” he added.
