Tinubu Reverses NTA Management Changes, Recalls Dembos and Adewuyi

President Bola Tinubu has directed the recall of Mr Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) to complete his three-year tenure.

Our correspondent collected from the Presidency that Dembos, appointed in October 2023, had briefly vacated the post following recent management changes.

Tinubu also ordered the recall of Mr Ayo Adewuyi, Executive Director of News, who was appointed in 2024, to complete his tenure ending in 2027.

A statement by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the directive effectively reversed earlier appointments of a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.

This development follows recent reports that Rotimi Pedro from Lagos State had been appointed as the new NTA Director-General alongside three other executive directors, including Karimah Bello from Katsina State as Executive Director of Marketing.

The Presidency, in a post on its X handle, had earlier presented these appointments under the headline “President Tinubu strengthens National Broadcasting, Appoints New NTA DG and EDs.”
