The Executive Chairman of Birnin Kudu Local Government Area, Hon. Bldr. Dr Muhammad Uba has launched the distribution of fertiliser to 1,000 farmers across the council’s eleven wards.
Our correspondent understands that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to boost agricultural productivity, reduce the rising cost of inputs, and enhance food security in Jigawa State.
The move also aligns with Governor Umar Namadi’s 12-Point Agenda for economic development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Uba urged farmers to adopt best practices in fertiliser application to improve yields and quality.
“Government is committed to supporting farmers with resources and knowledge to reduce hardship and increase output,” he said.
He also encouraged farmers to regularly consult agricultural extension officers for modern techniques.
Farmers welcomed the intervention, which they said would ease their burden and strengthen their role in the state’s economy.
