Ajibade Joins PSG Féminines in Landmark Move
Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade has signed for Paris Saint-Germain Féminines in a deal that runs until June 2027.
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade,” the French club confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.
Nicknamed “Mummy G.O.,” the Nigerian captain described the move as a defining moment in her career. “I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe.
This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and inspire young footballers in Nigeria and beyond,” Ajibade said.
Ajibade, 25, joins from Atletico Madrid Femenino, where she scored 40 goals in 139 appearances, winning the 2021 Spanish Super Cup and the 2023 Copa de la Reina.
In the 2024/25 season, she netted eight times and provided three assists in 25 matches.
Born in Mushin, Lagos, on 8 December 1999, the forward began her career at FC Robo Queens before moving to Avaldsnes IL in Norway in 2018. She signed for Atletico in 2021.
TIMES OF NIGERIA reports that Ajibade recently captained Nigeria to its record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, where she was voted Player of the Tournament.
She also represented Nigeria at the 2023 Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Her move to PSG sees her team up with compatriot Jennifer Echegini, signalling a new chapter for Nigerian footballers in Europe’s top leagues.
