Tinubu Hails Shettima at 59, Praises Loyalty and Partnership

President Bola Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 59th birthday, describing him as a trusted ally in Nigeria’s journey of renewal.

In a statement seen by Times of Nigeria, Tinubu said Shettima’s “courage, tenacity, and belief in Nigeria’s greatness have remained unshaken,” adding that his decision to pick him as running mate was based on competence and loyalty.

“You served the people of Borno excellently as Governor for eight years and later as Senator. In both roles, you showed that leadership is service, not privilege,” the President said.

Tinubu reaffirmed their joint commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that Shettima’s role had been vital in securing global partnerships and advancing food security. He wished him many more years of impactful service.
